Who we are
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, (SVdP), is the world's largest lay Catholic charitable group. With over 1 million volunteers in 135 countries worldwide, the society reflects Sorbonne student and society founder, Frederick Ozanam's efforts to organize student friends in a severe Parisian winter of 1865, to feed and clothe freezing, desperate citizens in doorways and on its streets.
What we Do
The St. Raymond Parish Conference began in 1965, with a dedicated group of 14 men and women assisting the poor and homeless.
In our 45 years at St. Raymond's we have helped several thousand destitute individuals and families with food, gasoline, and occasional short motel stays; visited shut-ins at home, in Atherton Health Center and Crane Place; assisted paralyzed war survivors at Menlo Park's Veterans Hospital in getting to Mass; ministered to 20-30+ people Mon-Fri for almost 20 years at Fair Oaks Community Center in Redwood City; amongst many other locations.
Our work is humbling yet tremendously satisfying, both practically and spiritually.

Matched Giving
Many companies offer their employees charitable giving opportunities. By remembering to ask about matching gifts, you can double or even triple the amount you donate to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Some employers ask you to send the appropriate company form, along with your gift, directly to the Society. Conference Staff can help you to complete and return the paperwork to your company, who will forward their charitable match to the Society.
Other companies will collect your donation, add their matching funds to your gift, and send it themselves directly to the National Office.
Whichever method your company uses – and whether you’re working or retired – please look into this tremendous opportunity to magnify your generosity and help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul grow in its service to the poor.
